2011 Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz - Gold

2011 Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz has won another gold medal - this time at the Sommelier Wine Awards in the UK:
Beauty in depth gave the Lionheart Gold in this impressively plush wine. 'Smoky bacon, brambles and chocolate spice on the nose, lead to a voluptuous palate with a really meaty streak,' said Natasha Hughes, team leader. 'Big and powerful, with enough tannins and acids to balance, plus a long peppery finish,' she said. Good for by the glass lists, this would match taste-fuelled dishes, from macaroni cheese to sirloin steaks.

2007 Lion's Tooth of the McLaren Vale

Those inventive chaps in Australia put some wicked spin
Review written by Olly Smith, The Mail on Sunday Live Magazine, November 2010.

"...Australian winemakers are also producing a range of unique blends – sometimes with unlikely combinations. Take the 2007 Dandelion Vineyards Lion’s Tooth Shiraz-Riesling.  Boosting red Shiraz with an inventive squirt of white Riesling gives this wine an upright backbone along with lashings of big, dark fruit: think espresso, dark chocolate, even liquorice."

Legacy Of The Barossa 30 Year Old Pedro Ximénez 93 Points

Review written by Lisa Perotti-Brown, The Advocate, February 2013.
Score: 93 Points

Pale amber color with a nose of hazelnuts, dried figs, sultanas and dates plus hints of brine and dusty earth, the NV Legacy of the Barossa 30 Year Old Pedros Ximinez is very sweet, unctuous and full in the mouth with a great concentration of nutty dried fruit flavors, a wonderful backbone of refreshing acid, and a very long finish. This is a beautifully balanced fortified wine and ready to drink now.

2011 Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz

Review written by Lisa Perotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate, February 2013.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2011 Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz offers aromas of freshly crushed blackberries and blueberries with suggestions of black pepper, tree bark, thyme and cedar. Medium to full-bodied with tons of youthful fruit, it is supported by crisp acid, a medium level of chewy tannins, and a long finish with a touch of oak. Drink it now to 2017+.

Score: 90 Points

Incorporating 5% Riesling in the blend, the 2010 Lion’s Tooth of McLaren Vale Shiraz Riesling shows a deep garnet color with just a hint of purple in the glass. With notes of black raspberries, kirsch and blueberry preserves plus whiffs of potpourri and violets, it is full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth. It has plenty of spiced red and blackberry flavors on offer with a medium level of velvety tannins and enlivening acid to sustain the long finish. Drink it now to 2017+.

With intense tropical notes of green guava, pineapple and mango and underlying jasmine and acacia honey hints, the 2012 Wonderland of the Eden Valley Riesling is dry and light to medium-bodied in the mouth. It has refreshing acid to cut through the great intensity of forward, exotic fruit flavors and a long finish. Drink it now to 2020+.

"Pale, bright puce. it has a vibrant bouquet and palate, with the full kit and caboodle of small red fruits, the finish long and crisp and dry. Worth the price." James Halliday
